New ABC store coming to Huntington area

A new Virginia ABC store is coming to the Huntington area.

The new store will be located in the Shops at Huntington Gateway, a ground-level retail center at the Huntington Gateway apartments, which are located at the corner of Richmond Highway and Huntington Avenue (see map). The store will be located in a long-vacant, 3,098 square-foot space closest to the center’s Huntington Avenue entrance.

A tentative opening date for the new store has not been set yet, and is dependent on the landlord completing work at the space, a spokeswoman for Virginia ABC said. An email seeking more information sent to a representative from KNLB, the real estate company that leases the spaces at the Shops at Huntington Gateway, was not immediately returned.

The nearest ABC stores in the Richmond Highway area are located the Belle View Shopping Center, Mount Vernon Plaza and Engleside Plaza.
