Police blotter: Peeper reported in Fairhaven neighborhood

A woman opened her blinds Tuesday morning to find a man trying to look insider her home, according to today’s Fairfax County Police blotter.

The incident happened around 6:40 a.m. in the 2400 block of Fort Drive (see map) in the Fairhaven neighborhood. Police said the man ran away after being spotted. No description of the suspect was given.

Shoplifting: Alba Canales, 22, was arrested and charged with possession of burglarious tools and petit larceny after allegedly trying to steal merchandise from Marshalls. Canales was allegedly of seen going into the fitting room with several items and cutting off the tags and security devices. She then left the fitting room wearing some of the clothing and attempted to leave the store, according to police. Canales was stopped with $53.98 in merchandise, police said.
