A drugstore in the Hollin Hall Shopping Center was robbed Tuesday morning, and the suspect or suspects involved remain at large.

The robbery happened sometime around 10:30 a.m. at the Rite Aid located at 7968 Fort Hunt Road (see map). Two people entered the store and confronted employees, demanding they hand over “personal items,” police said. When the employees refused, the assailants stole prescription medicine from the store and fled, Fairfax County Police public information officer Reem Awad said Wednesday afternoon.

There robbers were dressed in all black, and there were conflicting reports from witnesses as to whether it was a two men or one woman and one man, Awad said.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

Police asked anyone who may have seen something suspicious to contact 703-691-2131.

The robbry happened in a typically quiet Fort Hunt neighborhood where such incidents are extremely rare, according to published crime statistics. The 22308 zip code, where the shopping center is located, saw no robberies reported in the last six months.
