Dunkin’ Donuts, Subway coming to shopping center near Huntington Metro

Construction at the Huntington Station shopping center is seen last month.
The Huntington Station shopping center on North Kings Highway will soon be adding a Dunkin’ Donuts and a Subway sandwich shop.
Construction is currently underway to add space for the two new tenants at the shopping center, which sits across the street from the Huntington Metro station. The estimated opening date for each business is late spring 2018, according to Michael McGregor, executive vice president of leasing and acquisitions for Dwoskin, the development firm that owns Huntington Station.
The addition of the two national chains is the latest good news for Huntington Station, which was already at 100 percent capacity. A Bob & Edith’s Diner opened there in August, filling what had been the last open space in the shopping center, and has proven to be popular addition, McGregor said.
Huntington Station has become a more attractive destination for businesses for a variety of factors, McGregor said. The planned construction of new apartment developments in the Huntington area, the proximity to the Metro, a strong local economy and the right tenant mix have all contributed to the center’s recent boom.
“I think all the positives that have happened around there have been helpful,” said McGregor. “The community is ecstatic about [the new additions].”
Nice that the center is growing and attracting businesses. Have to say that it would be great to get some tenants other than Subway and Dunkin’ Donuts. The area overall has more than enough of these chains already.
Would be real nice to have Berk Herbert bank in their to serve the area… or any other bank their is a lot more parking & would be good to serve a lot of people ,,
If you’re ecstatic about Subway and Dunkin, you need to take a long hard look at what your life has become.
