The Quality Inn on Fordson Road.
Gunshots were fired in the vicinity of a Hybla Valley hotel early Sunday morning, according to today’s Fairfax County Police blotter.
Police say they responded to the Quality Inn at 7212 Fordson Road (see map) around 2:15 a.m. after the shots were reported. No victims were found, and no arrests were made, according to police.
One of the building’s exterior walls was damaged, but police said the bullets did not penetrate all the way through. Shell casings were found in the hotel’s parking lot in and in a fence, but police did not say how many.
Police say the incident remains under investigation.
Juveniles arrested after robbery attempt
Two teen girls tried to rob a woman early Saturday morning in the Audubon Estates area, but a person nearby intervened and held the girls until police arrived, according to today’s blottter.
The woman was walking home in the 7900 block of Eagle Avenue (see map) when the two girls approached her, asked for money and began assaulting her. At that point the citizen came to the rescue and held both of the teenage girls until the police arrive.
The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. Both suspects were taken to the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with attempted robbery.
