A pizza delivery was targeted for robbery again over the weekend, but good Samaritans came to his rescue when he yelled for help, according to today’s Fairfax County Police blotter.

The delivery man was doing his job around 9:40 p.m. on Friday night when four men walked up to him in the 3600 block of Robert E. Lee Place (see map). One of the men grabbed him and the others began going through his pockets, according to police.. The driver started yelling for help, and people nearby came to his defense, according to the police.

The four men fled on foot empty-handed, and the pizza delivery man avoided injury. The assailants were only described as black men between the age of 20-30.

The robbery attempt comes less than a week after another delivery driver was mugged in the same manner — held by one assailant, robbed by the others — about a mile away.

Friday’s incident is also in the same general location as three armed robberies earlier this month in the Lockheed Boulevard area. Those incidents all involved two assailants, and at least one of robbers was armed with a firearm in all three cases.
