Fire stations to host open houses Oct. 14

The Woodlawn fire station on Lukens Lane is among the Route 1-area firehouses holding an open house on Oct. 14.

All Fairfax County Fire and Rescue stations will be holding open houses Saturday, Oct. 14 as part of their annual Fire Prevention Week initiative. 

Children and adults are welcome to drop in and check out the trucks and other equipment, meet the firefighters and EMTs and participate in activities that teach fire safety. 

The open house runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at all stations. Here’s the four stations in the Richmond Highway area:

Mount Vernon, Station 9
