Cyclist injured after being hit by vehicle on Mount Vernon Memorial Highway

A woman was medevaced to a local hospital Sunday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle near Grist Mill Park.
The victim’s injuries were described as non-life-threatening, and the helicopter was used as a precaution, a Fairfax County Police spokeswoman said Monday.
The collision happened just after 3 p.m. at the three-way intersection of Mount Vernon Memorial Highway, Old Mill Road and Ferry Landing Road.
The police spokesman did not know yet if any charges were pending against the driver.
