At least two fundraising efforts are underway to help the family of the man electrocuted to death Wednesday in a workplace accident at the Huntington Gardens apartment complex.

Ervin Marenco Andasol, 36, died when the metal ladder he was holding made contact with a power line. Marenco Andasol had been hired to do painting at the apartment complex, which is located on Fairhaven Avenue in the Jefferson Manor neighborhood.

Ervin Marenco Andasol lived in the Route 1 area and leaves behind three children.

Two of Marenco Andasol’s children attend Mount Eagle Elementary School on North Kings Highway. The school is collecting donations to help pay for his funeral expenses, and Lee District Supervisor Jeff McKay said in a Facebook post on Friday that anyone interested in donating can bring money by the school.

Marenco Andasol’s family is also raising money to return his body to his native El Salvador, according to an article on the Spanish-language news site noticiasdmv.com, which has directions for how to donate to that effort.
