New principal hired for Bryant

Bryant Alternative High School

Christopher Larrick has been hired as the new principal of Bryant Alternative High School, Fairfax County Public Schools announced this afternoon.

Larrick comes to Bryant from Key Middle School in Springfield, where he served as principal. He takes over for Tangy Millard, who was hired as West Potomac’s new principal in July. Millard served as Bryant’s principal since 2015.

Larrick begins at Bryant effective Sept. 5.

Larrick brings more than 26 years of experience as an educator with him to Bryant, according to bio information provided by FCPS.  He is also familiar with the Richmond Highway area, working previously a guidance counselor at Mount Vernon High School and Sandburg Middle School, and as teacher at Walt Whitman Middle School.

Larrick earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education/History from Old Dominion University and earned his Master of Education in counseling from Virginia Tech. He also earned a doctorate degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of Virginia.

Bryant is a non-traditional high school that serves students in grades 9-12. It allows for flexible scheduling and specialized programs, including vocational, technical, and career training.
