Dunkin’ Donuts looking to open new location on Telegraph Road
Pending county approval, Dunkin’ Donuts has plans to open a new location next to Hayfield Secondary School on Telegraph Road.
The owner of the property has applied for a special exception to build a Dunkin’ Donuts with a drive-through at 7710 Telegraph Road, a vacant building that used to be a BB&T bank. While the property is already zoned for commercial use, a special exception is needed for fast-food restaurants with a drive-through.
The county’s planning and zoning staff has reviewed the application and recommended its approval. Next, the application will need to get approved by the planning commission at a July 19 public hearing, and then get voted on by the Board of Supervisors on July 25.
Dunkin’ Donuts plans to remodel the existing one-story brick building, which was built in 1973 and used as a bank until 2015. An entrance canopy will be added, as well as new lights and signage.
The new restaurant will operate from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., and will have a 22-person seating capacity, according to the planning and zoning staff report.

Thanks for reporting on the community! As a lazy reader, I would like to make one request: would it be possible to put a map graphic pinpointing the locations?
That’s a good idea. I try to do that sometimes, but have not been consistent.
