Task force to discuss health care options for residents with little or no insurance
A panel discussion on health care for individuals with little or no insurance will be held from 1-3 p.m. April 19 at the South County Center.
The discussion, sponsored by the South County Task Force for Health and Human Services, will feature providers from the Richmond Highway area, as well as State Sen. George Barker (D-39).
The panelists, specialists on providing care for patients with no or little health insurance, will talk about the latest on health care policy in Virginia and what the future holds for health care in the state.
In addition to Barker, who is a member of the state Education and Health committee, the panel will include:
- Dr. Basim Khan, Neighborhood Health, which provides medical, dental, and behavioral health care on a sliding fee scale
- Fadi Saadeh, Inova Simplicity health clinics
- Glynis Laborde, Community Health Care Network
- Susan Fay, Clinic Manager of the Mount Vernon District Office, Fairfax County Health Department
The South County Center is located at 8350 Richmond Highway (see map). The discussion will be held in the second floor conference room.
