New date picked for “Know Your Rights” forum in Gum Springs

Rep. Don Beyer will host a “Know Your Rights” forum on May 15 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Gum Springs.

The forum had originally been scheduled for March 13 but was cancelled due to snow. 

Beyer, a second-term Democrat whose 8th congressional district covers much of the Richmond Highway area, has been a vocal critic of President Trump and his administration’s policies, particularly two executive orders restricting travel from predominantly Muslim countries. 

Beyer has also spoken out against the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency’s Feb. 8 arrests across from Rising Hope Mission Church near Richmond Highway.

Bethlehem Baptist Church is located at 7863 Fordson Road (see map). Seating is limited, so anyone interested in attending should register for a seat ahead of time. The March meeting was to have been livestreamed; but no livestreaming announcement has been made for the rescheduled forum.
