Volunteers needed for Huntley Meadows cleanup day

Watershed Clean-Up day flier

You can help keep one of the Richmond Highway corridor’s most beautiful spaces clean next month by volunteering for Huntley Meadows’ annual watershed cleanup day.

The event, organized by the Fairfax County Park Authority in partnership with The Nature Conservancy, will be held at the park April 1 from 9-11:30 a.m. The Park Authority is looking for 30 volunteers to help with the cleanup at Huntley Meadows.

The watershed cleanups will be held around the county, so if Huntley Meadows’ spots get booked, there’s still plenty of opportunity to help out:

· Cub Run RECenter in Chantilly, 100 volunteers needed
· Ellanor C. Lawrence Park in Chantilly, 25 volunteers needed
· Hidden Oaks Nature Center at Roundtree Park in Falls Church, 100 volunteers needed
· Hidden Pond Nature Center in Springfield, 40 volunteers needed
· Lake Accotink Park in Springfield, 200 volunteers needed
· Lake Fairfax Park in Reston, 30 volunteers needed
· Riverbend Park in Great Falls, 75 volunteers needed
· Sully Historic Site in Chantilly, 15 volunteers needed
