Police blotter: Man arrested after knife incident at restaurant

A 70-year-old Annandale man was arrested yesterday after he allegedly pulled a knife on a woman at the Great American Steak & Buffet Company, according to today’s Fairfax County Police blotter.

The suspect faces charges of assault and trespassing following the incident, which happened around 5:30 p.m. inside the restaurant at 5902 Richmond Highway.

Police say the man entered the restaurant around 5 p.m. and was asked to leave by the staff due to a previous incident there. Taylor came back about 30 minutes later, was told to leave again and became upset, police said.

The man proceeded to allegedly grab a knife from the kitchen area and threatened the 38-year-old victim with it. Police say the suspect also held the knife in front of other customers before exiting the restaurant.

Police say they found and arrested the suspect nearby. No injuries were reported.
