Weekend police blotter: No injuries reported in pair of armed robberies

There were two armed robberies over the weekend in the Hybla Valley area, according to today’s Fairfax County Police blotter. 

The first robbery happened around 8 p.m. Friday in the 2600 block of Arlington Drive, near the Mount Vernon Square apartments. Two men approached a 40-year-old man in a parking lot while he was walking towards his home, police said. One of the assailants pulled a handgun and told the victim to hand over his wallet, according to police. The victim complied and the suspects ran away.

No injuries were reported.

The second robbery took place around 4:30 a.m. Saturday morning in the 7800 block of Parrot Place, which is in the Audubon Estates trailer park. A 55-year-old man had a gun pulled on him as he was getting into his truck. The assailant told the victim to give him money, but the victim refused, according to police. At that point the suspect ran off, police said.

No injuries were reported.
