Weekend police blotter: Woman allegedly kicks cop after DWI crash, 7-Eleven robbed again

A woman allegedly assaulted a police officer after a one-car crash near Richmond Highway early Saturday morning, according to today’s Fairfax County Police blotter.

The 29-year-old suspect faces charges of DWI (2nd within five years), unreasonable refusal (2nd offense) and assault on law enforcement (second offense).

Police say they responded to a report of a woman walking away from her vehicle after crashing into a ditch around 4:20 a.m. Officers arrived and determined the suspect was intoxicated, police said. When they attempted to arrest her, she refused and kicked one of them, according to police.

No injuries were reported.

7-Eleven robbed again

A 7-Eleven near the intersection of Richmond Highway and Lukens Lane was robbed Saturday morning, the second time the store has been held up in four months.

Police say a man walked into the store around 6:20 a.m. and asked an employee for cigarettes. When the clerk turned his back, the assailant pulled a handgun and demanded cash, according to police. The suspect took off with an unspecified amount of cash, and police said the employee didn’t need medical attention.
