Police release video of Subway robbery; second suspect seen in footage
Fairfax County Police have released security camera footage of an armed robbery at a Woodlawn-area Subway on Monday night, and announced that a second suspect is sought in the case.
The 45-second video shows footage of the holdup man arriving at the store, trailed closely by another man who police believe is involved. The video also shows the holdup man pacing inside the restaurant prior to the robbery, and then jumping the counter and pulling a gun on the female employee.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. at the Subway at 8468 Richmond Highway, next to the Woodlawn Shopping Center. According to police, the suspect entered the store and waited for all the customers to leave. He then ordered food and leaped over the counter with a handgun once the cash register was open. It’s unclear how much money was stolen.
The Subway employee, seen in the video being bullied and shoved by the assailant, did not require medical attention.
Police describe the holdup man as being a white male in his 20s, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall; police are looking for help identifying the logo on his sweatshirt. The second suspect is described as a black male wearing a dark coat.
