Man robbed Wednesday night in Groveton area; woman robbed at bus stop

A man was robbed  of his wallet and phone at knifepoint Wednesday night in the Groveton area, according to a Fairfax County Police spokesperson.

The man was walking in the 3400 block of Holly Hill Road around 11 p.m. when he was grabbed from behind. One of the assailants pulled a knife on the victim, but he was unhurt in the incident, according to police. 

Police searched for the accomplices with a K9 unit and the Fairfax1 helicopter, but were unable to locate them. 

The event was not reported in police department’s daily blotter.

Woman’s phone taken 

A woman waiting for a bus in the Hybla Valley area on Thursday morning was robbed of her phone by an unknown man, according to today’s police blotter.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Tamarind Street and Janna Lee Avenue around 8 a.m., according to police. The 24-year-old victim was standing at the bus stop when the man grabbed her and took the phone, police said.

The victim was not injured in the incident, according to police.
