Storck, McKay to speak at third Embark Richmond Highway community meeting tonight

A slide from a presentation given at an Embark Richmond Highway advisory group meeting held in October.
The third Embark Richmond Highway community meeting will be held at Walt Whitman Middle School from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday.
Supervisors Dan Storck (D-Mount Vernon) and Jeff McKay (D-Lee) will kickoff the meeting with opening remarks before turning the floor over to county officials who will give two presentations. One will be a transportation analysis overview, with a discussion of existing conditions and funding, and the other will provide information on a draft land use alternative.
There will also be a question and answer period, and time to view presentations. You can view the full meeting agenda here.
Embark Richmond Highway is an amendment to the county’s comprehensive plan that looks to transform the Richmond Highway corridor. Embark calls for a multimodal approach to transportation, anchored by a bus rapid transit system running down the center of the highway. The initiative also calls for increasing density around the nine planned BRT stations spanning from Huntington to Accotink Village.
Detailed information about Embark, including documents, presentations and videos, can be found on the county’s website.
Walt Whitman Middle School is located at 2500 Parkers Lane.
