Police blotter: 3 robberies on Friday, including one that sent victim to hospital

Three robberies were reported in the Richmond Highway area on Friday, including one incident that sent a 63-year-old victim to the hospital, according to today’s Fairfax Police blotter.

The first robbery targeted a 58-year-old woman who had just taken money out of an ATM Machine early Friday morning. The woman was walking toward the street from the 7-Eleven in the 8400 block of Frye Road when a man grabbed her from behind, police said. She fell, and another man took her wallet before fleeing, police said. The victim did not need medical attention.

Later on Friday, a man walking near South Kings Highway and Chimney Wood Court around 7:15 p.m. had a gun pulled on him by three men. The assailants took cash and fled in a van, according to police. The victim was not injured.

A 63-year old man did need to be taken to the hospital after getting mugged by three men around 10:30 p.m. near the Sunoco in the 8300 block of Richmond Highway, police said. The man was walking down the sidewalk when he was approached by the three assailants, who demanded money. One of the men assaulted the victim and then all three took off on foot, police said. The victim’s injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
