[Updated] Bob & Edith’s to open in March

Bob & Edith’s diner will be moving into a former auto parts store on North Kings Highway, across from the Huntington Metro station.
Update 12/28: A sign in the window at the North Kings Highway location says Bob & Edith’s Diner will now be opening in March, not February.
The Bob & Edith’s Diner coming to the Huntington area is aiming to open its doors around the first week of February.
Chris Bolton, who along with his sister and father own the 1950s-throwback diner chain, said Wednesday that they’d originally hoped to open in December, but pushed the date back because of issues with securing permits from the county.
Bolton said he’s confident the Huntington location will be successful, and said more Bob & Edith’s locations were in the works for 2017.
“I honestly believe we can open anywhere in the county and do well,” Bolton said. “[The Huntington Station] landlord gave us a phenomenal deal. It’s corner spot, good window frontage, plenty of room.”
Bolton said Fairfax and north Arlington locations are being eyed for the upcoming year. Bob & Edith’s currently has two diners in south Arlington and one in Springfield.
As for the North Kings Highway location, Bolton confirmed that it will be open 24/7, and also said they will not be serving alcohol.
“We sober people up. … I know there’s a lot of money in alcohol, but it’s not worth it,” Bolton said.
