Chris Blewitt, a 2013 West Potomac graduate, kicked the game-winning field goal with six seconds left Saturday as Pittsburgh shocked second-ranked Clemson on the road.

The 48-yard kick tied for the second-longest of Blewitt’s career at Pitt. The senior had a shaky game prior to the last-second attempt, having a missed field goal and extra point earlier in the contest.

But Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi said afterwards he had full confidence in Blewitt with the game on the line.

“He’s been a money kicker,” Narduzzi said after the game. “I knelt down the the guys there, said a prayer, and I had no doubt [the ball] was going to go through. It was destiny.”

Blewitt was a 1st team All-Met selection as a kicker his senior year at West Potomac.
