An animal hospital and thrift store are the newest tenants at the Huntington Station shopping center on North Kings Highway.

Paws, Purrs and Exotics Animal Hospital will be moving into the empty space at 5838A North Kings Highway. PPEAH is currently located on Peyton Street in Old Town Alexandria, where it opened in 2009.

PPEAH offers care for dogs, cats, pocket pets, birds, reptiles and other pets, according to its website.  An attempt to reach the owner of PPEAH was unsuccessful.

Select Seconds thrift store opened last Saturday in a space formerly occupied by a barber school. Select Seconds is run by Inova Mount Vernon Hospital and staffed by volunteers, with all profits going to the hospital.

Select Seconds

Select Seconds opened last week.

Select Seconds had previously been located at 8736 Richmond Highway in the Woodlawn area.

The shopping center, located directly across from the south entrance to the Huntington Metro station, is now fully leased, according to its property management company. Earlier this year Bob and Edith’s Diner announced they were moving into a space that had formerly been occupied by an auto parts store. Bob and Edith’s is scheduled to open in early February.
