Police blotter: Tire shop, pizzeria robbed over weekend
Two Route 1-area businesses were held up by armed assailants this weekend, according to the Fairfax County Police.
The first incident happened Friday night near the Beacon Hill Shopping Center. A man with a handgun entered Merchant’s Tire and Auto Center at 3125 Southgate Drive around 8 p.m. The suspect reportedly demanded cash and took property from a store employee before fleeing. The employee was not hurt, according to police.
On Saturday, three men with handguns robbed a pizza shop in the Huntington area. The suspects entered Juliano’s Pizza at 5950 Richmond Highway around 10:30 p.m., demanded cash and took items from employees. Nobody was hurt in the incident, police said.
