No injuries in two area fires on Sunday
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue responded to two fires in the Route 1 area on Sunday afternoon, but fortunately neither resulted in injuries or displaced residents.
A single-family house in the 3500 block of Wood Pile Court caught fire around 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, which started on the roof of the home above the entrance. The fire, which a department spokeswoman said was caused by juvenile using a lighter inappropriately, resulted in $5,000 worth of damage.
