New TownePlace Suites hotel opens in Woodlawn

A new 93-room hotel opened last week in the Woodlawn area.

The TownePlace Suites Alexandria Fort Belvoir, located just off of Richmond Highway at 8632 Woodlawn Court, officially opened its doors on Sept. 15 after more than three years of planning and construction.

TownePlace Suites hotels are part of the Marriott chain, and are designed for long-term visitors. The rooms are either studios or 1-bedroom suites with a separate living area. All rooms come with a fully-equipped kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, a dishwasher and cookware.

The new hotel’s amenities include an indoor pool, a 24-hour fitness center, grocery delivery service, an outdoor barbecue area and fire pit, and free WiFi. The hotel is also pet friendly.

The hotel has approximately 15-20 employees, according to the manager.
