County issues warning for potential flooding in Huntington, Belle Haven areas

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch in effect from 6 p.m. tonight through Friday morning. Fairfax County has issued an alert for the Huntington and Belle View/New Alexandria areas that flooding is a possibility.
Per Fairfax County:
If we receive the likely forecast of 1 inch of rain in a six hour period, with a 1.2 foot tidal anomaly, we may experience street flooding in the Huntington area.
If we receive 4 inches of rain in a six hour period with a 1.2 foot tidal anomaly we may experience structural flooding in the Huntington area.
We can expect localized street flooding in the Belle View/New Alexandria areas and typically near the intersection of Olde Towne Road and Wood Haven Road as well as the vicinity of 6700 West Wakefield Drive. We do not anticipate any structural flooding in the Belle View/New Alexandria areas based on the latest forecast.
