4th annual Celebration! Mount Vernon and Lee is this weekend

The fourth annual Celebration! Mount Vernon and Lee is Saturday at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital. The event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., will be held rain or shine.

Celebration! Mount Vernon and Lee is put on by Mount Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce to help showcase local businesses while providing a wide variety of family entertainment. This year’s event will also mark the 40th anniversary of Mount Vernon Hospital.

Moose

Children can enjoy moon bounces and games, and also get a close-up look at the Fairfax Police’s helicopter, police boat, bomb robot and K9 dogs — including social media superstar Moose. The fire department will also have a truck on hand for kids to tour.

Food trucks from Red, Hot & Blue BBQ, LaStrada Mobile Italian Food, and Ada’s Kitchen on Wheels will all be on hand.

The West Potomac High School dance team will open up the live entertainment at 11 a.m., and the Aspire Dance Academy will also perform. The West Potomac orchestra will play at 12:30. Burn, a local cover band, will play sets in the morning and afternoon. The Close 2 Home Band, another local cover group, will also play in the afternoon.
