Bob & Edith’s Diner to open new location near Huntington Metro

The future home of Bob & Edith’s Diner in the Huntington Station shopping center.
Bob & Edith’s Diner will soon be opening a new location across the street from the Huntington Metro station on North Kings Highway, according to multiple sources.
The restaurant will take over an open space in the Huntington Station shopping center, near the intersection of North Kings and Fort Drive.
A 1950s-style diner, Bob & Edith’s has become a local institution since its original location was opened in Arlington in 1969. It’s open 24 hours a day and serves up a menu of traditional diner favorites.
Residents in the surrounding area have been thrilled with the news that Bob & Edith’s is moving into the neighborhood, according to Ashley Davis, president of the Jefferson Manor Citizens Association.
“I would say [the feedback] has been 95 percent positive,” Davis said. “The concerns from some residents are about it being open 24 hours, and parking.”
Davis sees the diner becoming a central gathering place for residents of Jefferson Manor and the other communities around Huntington.
“I think it will just be a wonderful meeting place for us,” Davis said.
Representatives for Bob & Edith’s could not be reached for comment.
The new Bob & Edith’s will be the franchise’s fourth location. The original Bob & Edith’s is located on Columbia Pike in Arlington. In 2015, B&Es opened a location on S. 23rd Street in Crystal City and another in Springfield.
Bob & Edith’s takes over a space previously occupied by Carquest Auto Parts, who moved out in late 2015.
Very excited for B&E’s, and to have discovered your blog.
Thanks Jim!
