Police blotter: 2 assaults reported in Hybla Valley

A man was taken to the hospital after an assault on Arlington Drive early Tuesday morning, according to the Fairfax Police daily blotter.

The incident occurred in the 2900 block of Arlington Drive shortly after midnight, according to police. The suspect allegedly assaulted a man who was sitting outside a business and then fled the scene. The police arrested Nigel Clay, 24, a short time later and charged him with Malicious Wounding.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. No other details were released.

Robbery attempt turns violent

Two men attempted to rob a man around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday evening and then assaulted him after the victim refused, according to police.

The incident occurred in the 7300 block of Richmond Highway, which is near the intersection of Arlington Drive. According to police, the two men called another man over to talk and then ordered him to hand over his phone. When the victim refused, the two men assaulted him and fled. No arrests were made.
