Two cafeteria workers at West Potomac High School are out of a job after they were involved in a physical altercation in front of students during the middle of the school day last week. The confrontation was captured on video, and has been the subject of numerous social media posts by students in the days since the incident.

A West Potomac resource police officer responded to the April 26 incident, according to a Fairfax County Public Schools spokesman. However, no charges were filed in connection with the fight, a Fairfax County Police spokeswoman said.

Videos shot by students showing the fight went viral in the wake of the incident. The short clips show two female workers scuffling behind the lunch counter as students look on. It’s unclear what precipitated the fight.

A Storify page titled “West Potomac Lunch Ladies Fight” aggregated many of the social media posts about the incident and has been viewed more than 7,400 times since April 27. One tweet featuring a brief clip of the fracas has been retweeted more than 900 times.
