Historic Huntley tours begin this weekend
You can get an inside look at one of the corridor’s historic landmarks beginning this weekend. Saturday tours at Historic Huntley start April 30 and will continue until the end of October.
The Huntley house, located at 6918 Harrison Lane, was built in the early 19th century and was originally owned by the grandson of George Mason. It was occupied by Union forces during the Civil War, and endured multiple changes in ownership before falling into disrepair in the second half of the 20th century.
In 2010, a major renovation effort commenced thanks to funding from the Fairfax County Park Authority and National Park Service grant. The restored site reopened in 2012.
This year’s schedule includes 10:30 a.m., noon, and 1:30 p.m. tours. Pricing varies by age:
Students 16 and older: $4
Adults: $5
Seniors: $3
Children 5 to 15: $3
Children under 5: free
Cash or check preferred, but Visa and Mastercard are accepted. See the Fairfax County website for more information.
