Peruvian chicken restuarant coming to former Shane’s Rib Shack location

Chicken Rico, a Peruvian rotisserie chicken restaurant with two other Northern Virginia locations, is coming to the Mount Vernon Plaza shopping center at 7698 Richmond Highway.

Building permits for Chicken Rico are currently being processed, according the county’s inspections database, and the restaurant is now listed on the tenant roster for Mount Vernon Plaza by the center’s property management company.

A general contractor for the project told Covering The Corridor that work on the project will begin in about two months, and that the restaurant will open in approximately five months.

Chicken Rico takes over the location previously occupied by Shane’s Rib Shack, which closed in fall 2015.
