Two $100,000 lottery tickets were purchased from Richmond Highway area 7-Elevens within days of each other last month.

Brandon Pree, a Washington D.C. resident, was visiting his mom when he bought a Cash 5 ticket at the Huntington Avenue 7-Eleven on Feb. 28, according to a Virginia Lottery press release.

Pree’s numbers — 11-22-25-26-28 — matched the winners, and he took home the top prize of $100K.

“The first thing I did was call my mother,” Pree said in the Virginia Lottery release. “She started screaming!”

Another Washington D.C. resident got lucky days earlier at the Fairhaven Avenue 7-Eleven. Feleke Dergaw, a parking lot manager, also hit all five winning numbers on the Cash 5 drawing on Feb. 24.

Dergaw said he plans to put his winnings towards his retirement.

The odds of winning the Cash 5 top prize is 1 in 278,256, according to the Virginia Lottery.
