Police blotter: Super Mini Mart, Russell Road 7-Eleven robbed over weekend

Two convenience stores off of Richmond Highway were the site of armed robberies this past weekend, according to Tuesday’s Fairfax County Police blotter.

The Super Mini Mart at 8792 Sacramento Drive (see map) was hit Friday morning. Police say a man walked into the store around 8:40 a.m., displayed a weapon and demanded money from the register.

The assailant, desribed as a black man between 5 feet 2 inches tall and 20-25 years old, fled with an undisclosed amount of money. Nobody was injured in the incident, police said.

Another holdup was reported Saturday evening at the 7-Eleven at 8226 Russell Road (see map). A man with handgun entered the store around 7:20 p.m. and demanded cash from the register, police said.

The assailant fled on foot after getting an undisclosed amount of money, police said. No injuries were reported.
