Police have identified the man who died in yesterday’s fatal crash on Richmond Highway as Kwaune Marshall, 25.

Marshall, who police say lived on Furman Road in the Penn Daw area, died on the scene after the motorcycle he was driving slammed into the side of a Dodge Ram pickup truck at the intersection of Holly Hill Road.

Police said Saturday that Marshall was driving a stolen 2006 Honda motorcycle. The bike had been reported missing eight days prior to the crash, a police spokeswoman said.

Three riders in the truck were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the crash. A police spokeswoman said Saturday that all have been released from the hospital.

The crash, which happened around 4:30 p.m., created a grisly scene in front of the Cherry Arms Apartments. The force of the impact threw Marshall approximately 50 feet on the service road in front of the apartment complex and left the motorcycle impaled into the side of the truck.

The crash marked the second fatal motorcycle crash this month in the Fairfax County. Last week a 45-year-old man was killed when his motorcycle went off the road on Telegraph Road near Beulah Street and hit a wall. That crash is still under investigation.
