FCPD Car Seat Safety and Install @ Mount Vernon District Station
Jun 22 @ 9:30 am – 1:30 pm

Installing car seats for babies and children can be difficult, but we all want our children to travel safely. That’s why district stations across the county host free Car Seat Safety and Install events throughout the year! You will learn how you can ensure your car seat is properly installed to keep your child as safe as possible.

In preparation for your appointment, you should install the seat in your vehicle using the instructions that came with the car seat. Trained officers will review the car seat instructions and car owner’s manual to be certain that they are being followed as they should. All events are held in the parking lot of that district station.

Mount Vernon District Station schedule:

By appointment only. To reserve a spot, go to the station to get a ticket from the PCAs desk or call the station to schedule.

Ice Cream at Historic Huntley @ Historic Huntley
Jul 7 @ 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm

Spend a Sunday afternoon enjoying the old-fashioned pleasure of hand-cranked ice cream. Mark your calendar for “Ice Cream at Historic Huntley” on Sunday, July 7, 2019.

Family members of all ages can make and enjoy hand-cranked ice cream as Huntley’s Harris family may have done. Discover how the histories of ice cream and Huntley follow a similar path from elite luxury to family fare. Take time to tour the ice well and the Historic Huntley home, too. The program runs from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. The cost is $8 per person.

Historic Huntley is located at 6918 Harrison Lane, Alexandria, VA, near the entrance to Huntley Meadows Park. For more information, call the park at 703-768-2525 or visit www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/historic-huntley.
