Police blotter: Man arrested after allegedly throwing objects at cars

It was apparently a wild scene on Route 1 Tuesday morning near Huntington when a man allegedly ran into traffic multiple times and threw objects at moving cars before being subdued by police, according to Wednesday’s police blotter.

Steven Kindred, 31, is facing charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after the incident, which police say happened in the 6000 block of Richmond Highway (see map).

Officers were called to the scene around 7:20 a.m., and police say Kindred was running in and out of traffic and throwing objects when they arrived. He refused orders from officers to get on the ground, eventually he was pepper sprayed and hit with a baton before he could be put under arrest, according to police.

Kindred, a Springfield resident, remains in custody pending a bond hearing on Friday, according to court records.
