Police blotter: Armed robbery at Quality Inn, assault on Lockheed Boulevard

Quality Inn

The Quality Inn on Fordson Road.

A man was robbed in his room at the Quality Inn on Richmond Highway early Tuesday morning, according to today’s Fairfax County Police blotter.

Police say that shortly before 4 a.m., an unknown assailant knocked on the doors of one of the rooms in the hotel, which is located at 7212 Richmond Highway, but actually sits on Fordson Road (see map). When a person inside answered, the man showed a weapon and told the victim to hand over money. Police did not specify the kind of weapon.

The assailant fled after taking some property from the victim, police said. The victim was not injured, police said.

The same hotel was the site of a shooting in November 2017.

Man, woman wound victim in robbery attempt

A man walking down Lockheed Boulevard on Tuesday night suffered non-life-threatening injuries after getting mugged by a pair of assailants, police said in Wednesday’s blotter.

A man and woman approached the victim around 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Fairchild Drive (see map). The duo pull a weapon — police did not specify what kind — and demanded property from the man. Police say a fight broke out at that point, leaving the victim injured badly enough that he needed treatment at a local hospital.

The two assailants fled on foot. Police did not say if they were able to rob the victim. The male suspect was described as being black, 5 feet 7 inches tall, and heavyset. The only description of the female suspect was that she had short black hair.

Other incidents in the Mount Vernon police district reported in Wednesday’s blotter:

Larceny: 5400 block of Claymont Drive, property from residence
Larceny: 2800 block of Fairhaven Avenue, wallet from business
Larceny: 7600 block of Richmond Highway, merchandise from business
