Groveton retail plaza’s second tenant will be physical therapy office

PT Solutions site

PT Solutions will join Metro PCS in a small shopping plaza at the intersection of Richmond Highway and East Lee Avenue.

A Groveton-area retail building built last year after plans for a restaurant on the site fell through will soon be getting its second tenant.

PT Solutions, a physical therapy practice with locations in 13 states, will be moving into one of the two open spaces at the plaza, according to county permit information. It’s not clear when the practice will open; attempts to contact PT Solutions for more information were unsuccessful.

PT Solutions joins MetroPCS at the shopping center, which is located at the corner of Richmond Highway and East Lee Avenue. MetroPCS opened in May.

The shopping plaza was built on an empty lot that had long ago been home to a Dairy Queen and later Al’s Ice Cream. The lot sat vacant for many years after the closing of Al’s, but was cleared in 2013 as early work began on a planned brewhouse-style restaurant. But that project fell through, and the lot remained vacant until construction of the shopping plaza started in late 2015.

PT Solutions will be the second physical therapy business in recent months to open in Groveton. Pivot Physical Therapy, located in the retail space at the Beacon of Groveton apartment complex on the other side of Route 1, opened this fall.
