Police blotter: Woman charged with DWI after hitting person in wheelchair

A woman is facing multiple charges, including driving while intoxicated, after allegedly jumping a curb and striking a woman in a wheelchair in the parking lot of the Hybla Valley Walmart.

The 49-year-old woman is also accused of hit and run after allegedly getting out of her vehicle for a moment before getting back in and driving away. Additionally, she is charged with driving on a revoked license and “several” other drug-related offenses, according to police.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are described as non-life-threatening.

The crash happened Saturday afternoon at the Walmart located at 7910 Richmond Highway. Police credited witnesses on the scene with helping them find the vehicle and the suspect not far from the collision.

Pizza delivery man robbed

A man delivering a pizza on Saturday evening was robbed in the Hybla Valley area, according to police.

The assailant pulled a weapon (police did not specify what kind) on the worker in the 3800 block of El Camino Place around 9:35 p.m. The robber took money from the victim and ran off, according to police. The victim was uninjured.
