Police blotter: Gunpoint robberies reported on consecutive nights this weekend

A pair of armed robberies were reported over the weekend in the Hybla Valley area, according to Monday’s Fairfax County Police blotter.

The first robbery happened Friday night around 10:30 p.m. in the 7200 block of Jon Paul Drive (see map). A man walking home from a friend’s house had a gun pulled on him by a stranger. Police said the male assailant demanded the victim’s money and cell phone before fleeing in the area of Richmond Highway and Lockheed Blvd. 

According to police, the suspect was described as being an approximately 20 -25-year-old black male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, thin, clean shaven, wearing a baseball cap, black shirt and blue jean shorts. 

Another robbery took place Saturday night around 11:20 p.m., not too far from Friday’s incident. In this case, a pair of muggers walked up to a man in the 7500 block of Snowpea Court (see map) and pulled a gun. The assailants demanded money and proceeded to assault the victim.

Police said the victim declined to go to the hospital, and the investigation continues.
