Man held without bond after woman stabbed near Beacon Hill

A 33-year-old woman suffered serious injuries in a stabbing early Monday morning near the the Beacon Hill Apartments, according to today’s Fairfax County Police blotter.

Alexander Nartatez, 50, has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding in relation to the incident, which police say is domestic-related. Nartatez is being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Police say they got a call about a person being stabbed around 12:20 a.m. When they arrived they found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The victim was medevaced to a local hospital aboard the county’s Fairfax1 helicopter; part of South Kings Highway and some other surrounding roads were closed so that the helicopter could land.

Woman robbed at knifepoint

A woman was robbed at knifepoint by a man in the Hybla Valley area early Sunday morning, according to today’s blotter.

The incident happened in the 7800 block of Richmond Highway (see map) around 12:40 a.m., police said. The woman was sitting on a curb using her phone when the assailant approached from behind and grabbed her wallet, which was on the ground next to her. 

Police say the man then threatened her with the knife and grabbed her phone from her before fleeing on a bicycle. No injuries were reported by police.

Hit and run suspect arrested

A man who police say was involved in a hit-and-run earlier this month allegedly tried to flee from officers during a traffic stop Sunday. 

Police say they tried to pull over 26-year-old Jeffrey Cunningham around 6:15 p.m. near the intersection of Eureka Court and Sacramento Drive. Cunningham, who was wanted by the state police for the Sept. 20 hit-and-run, allegedly ran from police but was caught and arrested. He’s charged with disregarding signal by law enforcement officer and duty of driver to stop in event of accident involving injury or death or damage to attended property.
