A 41-year-old man had to go to the hospital after getting assaulted Sunday afternoon in the 7900 block of Richmond Highway.
According to police, the victim was walking by himself around 2:15 p.m. when another man knocked him down from behind. The men scuffled on the ground, and the attacker fled, police said.
The victim told police that the attacker was trying to rob him, but no money was taken. Police also said the assailant was armed with a pocket knife.
The victim’s injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Destruction of Property/Unlawful Entry/Trespassing: Police responded to a possible burglary at Hybla Valley Elementary School on Lockheed Boulevard after a group of teenagers was found on school property Saturday evening. Two of the teenagers allegedly ran from school security, but were found nearby. Police said that petitions were pending for destruction of property, unlawful entry and trespassing.
Indecent Exposure: A man was seen exposing and touching himself inappropriately near the intersection of Pole Road and Shadwell Drive on Friday evening around 7:15 pm. Police say the man was black, around 50 years old, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and 250 pounds.
