Police blotter: Man assaults residents after entering their garage

A 19-year-old man was arrested last night for allegedly entering someone else’s garage and then assaulting two residents after being confronted.

The Alexandria resident faces charges of unlawful entry, drunk in public and two counts of assault for the incident, which happened around 11 p.m. Sunday night.

Police say the man began knocking things over in the garage in the 7200 block of Wickford Drive, not far from the intersection of Telegraph Road and South Van Dorn Street. The two residents then confronted the man in some manner, at which time the assault occurred, police said.

The two victims declined medical attention, police said.

The suspect was taken to the Adult Detention Center after the incident, police said.
