Next Embark community meeting is May 15; BRT simulation video released

The next Embark Richmond Highway community meeting and open house will be held May 15 from 6:30-9 p.m. at Walt Whitman Middle School.

This is the fourth community meeting about the planned initiative, and the first one held in 2017. Per a county news release, the meeting will focus on the following:

  • Recommended housing, parks, public facilities including schools, heritage resources and environmental needs to be considered in a proposed update to the land use plan for the corridor
  • Future traffic volumes and estimated daily bus rapid transit ridership in 2040 based on the proposed new land uses and the existence of a BRT system
