Code enforcement will be the main topic of Wednesday night’s meeting of the Lee District Association of Civic Organizations (LDACO).

The discussion will focus on how to interact with the county’s enforcement system, and how to keep up with cases in progress.

“I hope residents of Lee District can come out and learn how to make the code compliance process work for our communities,” said LDACO President Chris Soule. “County staff cannot do their job without hearing from those who have daily interaction their neighborhood.”

Soule recently worked with code compliance officials to address a litter problem on a commercial property on Richmond Highway. The property, a small shopping center with a large parking lot that bordered residential areas, had become a dumping ground strewn with old toilets, mattresses and other debris.

Wednesday’s meeting is open to all Lee District residents. LDACO, which seeks to facilitate communication between Lee District residents and the county government on issues such as zoning, crime and traffic, will also be holding its biennial elections at the meeting.

The meeting begins 7:30 p.m. at the Franconia Governmental Center (see map).
