Police blotter: Man hit with pipe during armed robbery on Frye Road

An 18-year-old man was beaten with a pipe during a robbery yesterday evening in the Woodlawn area, according to today’s police blotter.

Police say that the victim was walking home in the 8400 block of Frye Road around 7 p.m. when a car pulled up next to him. Five men jumped out of the car and began assaulting him with the pipe, police said.

The assailants took cash and unspecificed property from the victim before fleeing in the car, police said.

The victim suffered minor injuries in the attack, but declined a trip to the hospital, police said.
