The Richmond Highway widening project between Telegraph Road and Mount Vernon Memorial Highway/Jeff Todd Way will begin a paving phase next week, according to the project’s Facebook page.

Starting on Tuesday, paving will happen nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. The paving operation is expected to last until June 1.

Additionally, from May 8-12 there will be paving during the day between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The paving operations are expected to cause changes in traffic patterns and the intermittent closing of intersections.

The widening project at Fort Belvoir, which broke ground in 2014, is scheduled to finish this summer.
